The AEW Championship match between Kenny Omega and Jungle Boy will now be taking place on a special Saturday night edition of Dynamite.

While appearing on Busted Open Radio, AEW president Tony Khan revealed the date of the match will be Saturday, June 26th with Dynamite airing on a different night that week.

Dynamite has been affected by TNT’s coverage of the NBA playoffs with the show airing on back-to-back Friday nights including tonight’s episode.

After Jungle Boy won the Casino Battle Royale at Double or Nothing, it was stated that he would challenge “in two weeks” although no date was provided in the original advertisement.

Khan also said that this show would almost be a teaser of their quarterly TNT Saturday night specials.

Sure sounds like they’ll load up the episode.

Is Jungle Boy really over ? Or is it just because of his music ?

AEW moving to TBS cannot come soon enough.

Consistently delivers in-ring for me. Not sure the promo is all the way there yet (how often do they even let him talk?) but Kenny vs JB looks like a must-see matchup. He isn’t as over as Kenny or the Bucks obviously but he’s also much younger. I’d put him on the same level as a Darby Allin. Nobody would complain about a JB TNT Title run.

That being said I definitely prefer him as a singles wrestler. The more they distance him from Botchasaurus Rex and the Geek, the better.
