This past April, it was first reported by Fightful that KUSHIDA was no longer with WWE. He had been removed from the company’s active roster page and moved to the alumni section. He departed New Japan in 2019 and joined WWE later that year.

KUSHIDA is a two-time Best of the Super Juniors tournament winner and a former 5-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.

Man, does Gedo not trust him at all? Not putting him in the heavyweight division is baffling.
