NXT is inching closer to their TakeOver: WarGames show on December 6th that will stream on the WWE Network. The show lineup is taking its final shape and for the women’s WarGames match, there is one more spot on Shozti Blackheart’s team to be filled before it’s complete. Shotzi is joined by Ember Moon and Rhea Ripley and they’ll take on Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez and Toni Storm.

This week on NXT on the USA Network, Shotzi Blackheart is taking on Raquel Gonzalez in a Ladder match to determine which team gets the WarGames advantage this Sunday.

Last week on NXT, Pete Dunne defeated Kyle O’Reilly in a Ladder match to secure the WarGames advantage for his team.

POST Wrestling will have highlights up along with audio and written coverage of TakeOver and below is the official lineup for the show:

  • WarGames Match: Undisputed ERA (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong) vs. Pat McAfee, Pete Dunne, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch
  • WarGames Match: Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez & Toni Storm vs. Shotzi Blackheart, Ember Moon, Rhea Ripley & TBD
  • NXT North American Championship: Leon Ruff (c) vs. Damian Priest vs. Johnny Gargano
  • Strap Match: Dexter Lumis vs. Cameron Grimes

I’m all about the POST guys having a work/life balance and finding time to relax. So maybe just start announcing when there’s NOT going to be a ladder match on NXT?

Does HHH own stock in a ladder company?

No. He, like everyone else, has got to work around a lack of real stars and anyone actually being truly over by adding a gimmick. Lazy booking. It’s the same reason the War Games match will no doubt be ruined again by introducing the same old, tired “weapons”.

They can’t just book a plain old War Games match because nobody cares about the participants so they think trotting out the kendo stick/wafer thin aluminium foil garbage can/fake and weak chair to the back, etc. shots that are 20 years past their sell by date will impress viewers enough to maintain their interest. And it will, as they are pretty much at the bottom and left with only a small hardcore audience that will watch whatever shit they present no matter how bad.

It’s wild that the ladder match is being used as a set-up for another gimmick.

Really crazy how the annual gimmick related events over the last decade, has really caused most WWE gimmick related matches to mean so little.

Ladder matches just do not feel special at all in wwe/nxt. A lot like the way HIAC just feels like an obligated yearly thing to get through

They have done nothing right with WarGames. Three teams, pinfall finishes, no top on the cage. That’s not WarGames.

Give me two rings, a big ass cage, two teams that actually hate each other, and – most importantly – submission or surrender!
