Originally published at Live episode of AEW Rampage falls in earlier time slot, #26 on cable
Airing outside of its regular time slot for the fourth consecutive week, AEW Rampage experienced a decrease for its live episode.
The May 27th edition of Rampage from Las Vegas averaged 341,000 viewers and approximately 183,000 (0.14) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

Rampage was bumped to 6:30 p.m. ET this past Friday to accommodate TNT’s coverage of the NHL playoff game between the Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues. The program has not had consistent start times with the May 6th and 13th episodes beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET and the May 20th episode airing at 7 p.m.
Rampage finished #26 among cable originals led by the NBA and NHL playoffs. In its timeslot, Rampage finished behind a college softball game on ESPN 2 that averaged 677,000 viewers and 0.14 in the demo.
Over the past four episodes outside of its normal time, Rampage is averaging 346,000 viewers and 169,000 in 18-49. Compared to the previous four episodes airing at 10 p.m. ET, Rampage is down 32 percent in viewers and 29 percent in the demo over that stretch.
This past Friday’s show dropped 17 percent in viewers and declined by seven percent in the 18-49 demo compared to the previous week. The move also hurt its 18-34 audience, which experienced a 29 percent decline this week and a 37 percent drop with its male 12-34 audience.
The one bright spot was females 18-49 grew by 13 percent from last week and adults 35-49 were nearly identical.
In the 18-49 demo, they did drop from last week’s number but beat out the previous three episodes including the April 29th edition of Rampage that aired in the regular slot at 10 p.m. ET going against the NFL Draft.
The live edition of the show from Las Vegas going into the pay-per-view weekend included the semi-final match between Kris Statlander and Ruby Soho in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament and a singles match between Bryan Danielson and Matt Sydal.
Rampage is scheduled to return to its normal time this Friday with a live episode from Ontario, California with no NBA or NHL games scheduled that night. AEW will be airing against Game 3 and Game 4 of the NBA finals next week on June 8th and June 10th.
