The life of Jay Briscoe will be celebrated through a match featuring his brother.

Last week, Jay Briscoe passed away in a car accident. Tributes came raining in from those within the pro wrestling space and on AEW television, talents wore arm bands with Jay’s name on it and there was a tribute show filmed for Honor Club.

AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter to announce that ROH World Tag Team Champion Mark Briscoe will be making his AEW debut on 1/25. He’ll be facing two-time ROH World Champion Jay Lethal.

The fundraiser for the Briscoe family surpassed $200,000. In December at Final Battle, Mark and Jay won the ROH World Tag Titles from FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler).

Wonderful news but still heartbreakingly sad at the same time. If the rumors are true that TBS didn’t want the Briscoes on or even just Mark Briscoe and Tony Khan had to fight for this to go on then there is no question he did the right thing and glad to see everyone agreed to it at the end of the day.

Love it. So glad Warner finally got their head out of their ass about this whole situation.
