Cole brought it up as cameras were on Georges St-Pierre and Helwani.
There was a back and forth exchange on social media on February 17th between AEW President Tony Khan and combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani. Khan tweeted that Helwani is a ‘fraud’ following his appearance on Friday Night SmackDown in Montreal and later responded to Helwani’s comment and said good luck with the ‘unbiased journalism’.
When Helwani and UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre were shown on-camera at WWE Elimination Chamber in Montreal, Michael Cole stated the following on commentary:
The unbiased Ariel Helwani who asks all the hard-hitting questions whether you wanna answer them or not.
Cole’s comment was in reference to a past interview that Khan and Helwani recorded.
