Suzuki speaks candidly on the matter.

It was a full year ago that Minoru Suzuki made the announcement that the Suzuki-gun faction would be disbanding. Suzuki highlighted the journeys of Zack Sabre Jr., El Desperado, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Lance Archer, DOUKI, Taichi and how far they came as wrestlers.

Each member has gone their separate ways but Suzuki and Desperado are still aligned. Suzuki reflected on the faction disbanding was he being interviewed by KAKUTOLOG. He does not feel the faction was a waste of time at all.

He mentions that he could do it again with the same members and same name but does not want to. He explained that he’s not a person who strays away from being uncomfortable.

Yes, I am (wrestling matches the way I want to). I don’t feel that it was a waste of time (he said about Suzuki-gun). It’s a feeling that I don’t have at all. I don’t have any. Even if I do it with the exact same members next time, or with the exact same name, I can do it with a new feeling. I don’t really want to do it with the same members and the same name. I want to do something different. I want to do many things that I couldn’t do before… When you get to a certain position or a big place and sit in that chair, you don’t want to get out of it because it’s so comfortable. You don’t want to get out of the way, and if you do, you will be taken away. I don’t have that kind of thing. I don’t have that kind of thing at all. There are a lot of people who don’t get off.

Coming up for New Japan is Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4th. Suzuki has yet to be announced for the show.

He was a part of the 2023 World Tag League and was paired with Yuji Nagata. They finished the tourney with two wins.
