Several announcements have been made for this Monday’s episode of Raw including a #1 contender’s match for the Raw women’s championship held by Asuka.
During SmackDown’s broadcast, it was confirmed that Charlotte Flair will face Natalya and Nia Jax in a triple threat match where the winner will challenge Asuka at Backlash on Sunday, June 14th.
At first glance, it’s a strange scenario with Flair already holding the NXT women’s title and makes that title secondary when she’s fighting for a shot at another title, although that can be covered by her explaining a desire to hold all the titles. Even stranger is that Shayna Baszler submitted Natalya clean this past Monday on Raw and is not involved in the match while Natalya is.
They also announced that Drew McIntyre will be a guest on the MVP Lounge with MVP. It was made official this past week that McIntyre will defend the WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley at Backlash.
Andrade will also defend the United States title against Apollo Crews this Monday.
This Monday’s episode of Raw will not be taped in advance and is scheduled to take place this Monday at the Performance Center where they will be shooting the following week’s Raw as well.
