The future of the World and Trios Championships.

To kick off AEW Dynamite in Buffalo, New York, Tony Khan appeared on-screen to decide the future of the AEW World Title and the World Trios Championships following the physical altercation involving CM Punk and The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt & Nick Jackson).

Punk was the AEW World Champion and The Elite were the Trios Champions but those titles have been vacated. New Trios Champions are going to be crowned tonight when Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero Meido & Rey Fenix) takes on Orange Cassidy and Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent).

A new AEW World Champion is going to be crowned at Dynamite Grand Slam on September 21st. AEW is hosting a ‘Tournament of Champions’ and below is the format for the tourney:

  • Dynamite (9/7): Hangman Adam Page vs. Bryan Danielson
  • Rampage (9/9): Sammy Guevara vs. Darby Allin
  • Dynamite (9/14): Chris Jericho vs. Hangman Adam Page or Bryan Danielson
  • Dynamite (9/14): Jon Moxley vs. Sammy Guevara or Darby Allin
  • Vacant AEW World Championship Match (9/21): TBD vs. TBD

POST Wrestling is going to release Rewind-A-Dynamite on Thursday.

I like their plans for the World Title. Simple to follow (no Battle Royal involved) and with top names.
