New Japan Pro Wrestling has released its line-ups for its next two shows, which will be a New Japan Road card followed by the Sengoku Lord show in Nagoya, Japan later this month.
The big event is the Sengoku Lord show on Saturday, July 25th that will feature EVIL’s first defense of the Double Championship against former stablemate Hiromu Takahashi, who is the current IWGP junior heavyweight champion. The match stems from this past weekend’s turn by EVIL, joining The Bullet Club, and defeating Tetsuya Naito for the Double Championship. After the title win, he was challenged by Takahashi at the end of Sunday’s Dominion card in Osaka.
Both shows feature the returns of Minoru Suzuki and Yoshi-Hashi. Suzuki was pulled from the Osaka cards this past weekend as a precaution after he contracted a fever. Yoshi-Hashi missed the cards due to a right knee injury, the severity of the injury was never disclosed by the company.
The July 25th show will also feature a NEVER Openweight title match with Shingo Takagi defending the title against El Desperado. The match was set-up after Takagi defended the title against SHO at Dominion and was attacked by Desperado after the match.
New Japan Road occurs next Monday, July 20th headlined by EVIL, Dick Togo & Taiji Ishimori taking on Tetsuya Naito, Hiromu Takahashi & Bushi.
