Originally published at NJPW reveals full card for Sakura Genesis on 4/4 at Sumo Hall
New Japan Pro Wrestling has released the card for the Sakura Genesis event on Sunday, April 4th featuring the first IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match.
The recently unified championship will be defended by Kota Ibushi against New Japan Cup winner Will Ospreay in the main event of the show at Sumo Hall.
The card will feature another championship match with Roppongi 3K challenging Yoshinobu Kanemaru & El Desperado for the IWGP junior heavyweight tag titles. It will be YOH’s first match since last June when he suffered a knee injury and has been out of action since.
NJPW is also promoting a mystery partner for Jeff Cobb and The Great O-Khan is a six-man tag against LIJ members Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi & SANADA.

*IWGP World Heavyweight Championship: Kota Ibushi (champion) vs. Will Ospreay
*IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Championship: El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru (champions) vs. Roppongi 3K
*Hiroshi Tanahashi & Satoshi Kojima vs. Jay White & Bad Luck Fale
*Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi & SANADA vs. The Great O-Khan, Jeff Cobb & “X”

Prior to the Sumo Hall card, there will be four “Road to” show beginning this Sunday in Gunma with two shows at Korakuen Hall on 3/29 and 3/30 and a show in Fukushima on 4/1.
