On 5/14, NJPW held an event in Washington D.C. which concluded with Juice Robinson becoming IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion.

“LOL CLASSIC NEW JAPAN!”
eye-rolling

I was there last night and had a grest time. Over four and half hours for this show, but the crowd seemed pretty great throughout. May have been at their lowest for Kross vs. Uemura. SPOILERS BELOW:

One match that happened that wasn’t listed above was Brody King beating Jake Something. A quality hoss battle.

I was tweeting all of my photos to my wrestling-centric account, and Ariya Daivari may have used my photo up above! My mentioning Tanahashi vs. Dickinson (while only showing Tanahashi) drew the expected kind of quote tweets, with which I can’t disagree.

Lawlor vs. Rosser was very successful. They played a video package on their feud before the match, and they got people to care. They took it a step further with Rosser bleeding, fighting from behind.

Also, Eddie Kingston was in Homicide’s corner (heck of a match against Ospreay), Tiger Hattori was in attendance to present the Strong Openweight Title, and Christopher Daniels showed up to save Karl Fredericks from the Factory.

Alex Coughlin has graduated from Young Lion status and is now THE ANDROID Alex Coughlin, with entrance gear that makes him look like a robot. He got really over by showing off gis strength.
