Numerous ECW vets will soon touch down inside the Hammerstein Ballroom for the first time in over a decade.
Ex-ECW talents Tajiri, Masato Tanaka, Little Guido and Super Crazy are the latest names to join The People vs. GCW, a January 19 card at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, New York.
Tanaka appeared at the Hammerstein Ballroom twice in the 2000s as part of ECW’s One Night Stand shows. In 2005, he faced the late Mike Awesome in a singles match. A year later, the former ECW champ went up against Balls Mahoney.
“I’m going to the venue where Mike [Awesome] and I last matched,” Tanaka wrote on X shortly after his GCW appearance was announced. “I never thought that would be the last time.”

Super Crazy also wrestled at a pair of Hammerstein shows, including a three-way match against Little Guido and Tajiri.
Tajiri has notably appeared nine times on ECW shows at Hammerstein in the past, including a piece of his tag team run alongside Mikey Whipwreck.
While there are two months before GCW’s return to the Hammerstein Ballroom will go down, the promotion has announced quite a few matchups for the show thus far. The promotion will likely make an effort to put more attention on the card in the coming weeks, as estimations from WrestleTix show they gave room to sell roughly 1,300 more seats.
