At NWA’s 73rd Anniversary Show, the current World Women’s Champion will defend her title against the winner of the NWA Women’s Invitational.

The National Wrestling Alliance hosted a press conference today to promote their all-women’s event Empowerrr and the 73rd Anniversary Show at The Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis. NWA owner Billy Corgan, Nick Aldis, Trevor Murdoch and Kamille among others were present. Mickie James announced that the NWA is going to present their first-ever Women’s Invitational Cup.

The winner of this tournament will challenge for the NWA World Women’s Championship at 73rd Anniversary on August 29th, one day after Empowerrr. The current champion Kamille is scheduled to defend her World Women’s Title against Kenzie Page on July 24th.

Mickie revealed the first entry into the tourney and it is Missouri’s own Tootie Lynn.

James is the Executive Producer for Empowerrr. James will be making her in-ring return at the 73rd Anniversary show and has done a number of media interviews discussing her potential opponent for that show.
