NXT 2.0 had many factors going against it on Tuesday between the World Series and coverage of the Virginia and New Jersey elections.
The November 2nd follow-up edition to Halloween Havoc averaged 631,000 viewers and 198,000 (0.15) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily
Those numbers represent a drop of 15 percent in viewers and 18 percent in the 18-49 demo from last week’s heavily promoted special.
NXT went against the monstrous Game 6 of the World Series where the Atlanta Braves ended the series with Fox averaging 13,989,000 viewers and 3.37 in 18-49 to dominate all of television.
The cable numbers were led by Fox News with coverage of the Virginia election as it occupied the top five sports. The top non-news program was TNT’s NBA coverage with the early game between Miami and Dallas going head-to-head with NXT and averaging 1,026,000 viewers and 0.39 in 18-49.
The fact NXT only fell the level it did should be viewed as a positive as it was a highly competitive night. The program finished #30 among cable originals on Tuesday.
There was a major loss among Adults 18-34 that declined by 38 percent this week with Males 18-49 decreasing by 23 percent. Females 18-49 displayed the most retention with a modest drop of 9 percent from the week prior.
Excluding Halloween Havoc, NXT averaged 623,000 viewers in the month of October and 0.14 in 18-49 over the three episodes from October 4-19.
In Canada, NXT did not air on television due to coverage of the NBA and streamed on the Sportsnet NOW streaming player. There was a late-night replay that aired at Midnight ET and averaged 9,000 viewers.
