The fallout from War Games and address by Johnny Gargano did not spike numbers for NXT 2.0.

The December 7th edition of the coming off Sunday’s special finished #48 among cable originals with 590,000 viewers and approximately 148,000 (0.11) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

The 18-49 audience would be the second-lowest during NXT’s run on the USA Network since September 2019. The only USA Network edition of the show to do lower was November 16th last month that averaged 143,000 (0.11).

The show fell 7 percent in viewership and 22.5 percent in the 18-49 demo from last week. The overall viewership was the fourth-lowest of 2021 (excluding the two episodes that aired on Syfy in August).

The number is a major letdown as they were coming off a big show on Sunday and advertised both a steel cage match and Johnny Gargano addressing his future with the brand.

In the 18-49 demo, the female audience dropped by 40 percent this week while males in the demo only fell by 6.

The 18-34 demo collapsed with a 55 percent decline this week and Brandon Thurston noted males in the demo dropped from 45,000 to 20,000 and females were down from 49,000 to 16,000 this week.

In the 12-34 demo, females declined 55.5 percent and males by 64 percent.

The older audience stayed steady as 35-49 actually increased from 110,000 to 112,000 (although females were down in the demo) and its 50+ audience only dropped by 3 percent from last week.

NXT 2.0 went against the Brooklyn Nets vs. Dallas Mavericks games which averaged 1,317,000 viewers and 0.46 in the demo, finishing second among cable originals. There was also college basketball on ESPN with back-to-back games airing throughout the 8-10 p.m. ET hours.

In Canada, NXT did not finish among the top ten sports programs and averaged 49,000 viewers on Sportsnet 360.

They’ve literally gutted and ruined everything that made it great, its no surprise really. I haven’t watched in ages now.
