After falling to one of its lowest demo numbers in history last week, NXT 2.0 rebounded with a major increase in female viewers.

The January 25th edition of NXT 2.0 averaged 593,000 viewers and approximately 184,000 (0.14) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

The show finished #41 among cable original after slipping to #50 last week.

This week, it recovered with a 23.5 percent increase in its 18-49 audience and second-highest this month behind the New Year’s Evil special.

According to Brandon Thurston’s data, the big swing from last week came with female viewers that jumped dramatically. Females 18-49 were up by 67 percent from last week and almost identical to two weeks ago. Females 18-34 were up 83 percent from last week and equalled the mark set for New Year’s Evil in that demo. Females 35-49 were up 47 percent from last week but not at the level of the first two episodes of NXT this year.

ESPN was number one among cable originals with the L.A. Lakers vs. Brooklyn Nets that went against NXT with 1,517,000 viewers and 0.53 in 18-49. The ending of NXT went against the start of the late game between Dallas and Golden State, which finished second on cable with 0.51 in the demo.

NXT featured a live performance by Ollie Jayy, a number one contenders match between Cameron Grimes and Tony D’Angelo, several matches in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, a six-woman tag, and a Falls Count Anywhere match between Solo Sikoa and Boa, which were all advertised in advance.

In Canada, the show averaged 82,000 viewers on Sportsnet 360, which was a giant increase over last week’s average of 46,000 and shows you the volatility and giant movements among Canadian numbers. Throughout January, NXT has averaged 59,000 (New Year’s Evil), 89,000, 46,000, and 82,000 over the four weeks. This week’s episode did not finish among the top ten sports broadcasts in the country and we didn’t receive a number in the 25-54 demographic.
