The final episode of NXT for 2022 saw the show hit a three-week low in viewership with the taped episode from Florida.
The December 27th episode that was taped two weeks ago averaged 588,000 viewers and approximately 157,000 (0.12) in the 18-49 demographic and ranked #25 among cable originals on Tuesday. (Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics & Showbuzz Daily).
The show was down 17% in overall viewers and 12% in the 18-49 demo from the previous week’s episode, which was also a taped edition from the WWE Performance Center.
It was NXT’s lowest viewership since December 6th and the lowest 18-49 audience since November 22nd.
In the key demo, female viewership saw an upswing of 13.5% this week while the male audience dropped by 17.5%.
In the 18-34 demo, the audience fell by 34%, which was its lowest mark in the demo since November 29th.
Adults 35-49 saw a jump of 12% while adults over the age of 50 saw a downturn of 24% this week.
In Canada on Sportsnet 360, NXT averaged approximately 29,000 viewers and 9,000 in the 25-54 demographic, which was a massive drop from the previous week’s numbers of 82,000 and 29,000 respectively.
NXT aired against college football on ESPN, which averaged 2.62 million viewers and 0.66 in 18-49, ranking second among cable originals that night as well as a soccer game on TUDN that averaged 342,000 viewers and 0.14 in the demo.
The show was headlined by Wes Lee retaining the North American Championship against Tony D’Angelo, which included a five-minute overrun segment.
