NXT hit a two-week high in its television figures for Tuesday’s episode featuring the semi-finals of the women’s title tournament.

The May 23 edition of NXT averaged 578,000 viewers and 209,000 (0.16) in the 18-49 demographic and ranked #14 among cable originals. (Showbuzz Daily and Wrestlenomics)

Viewership was up by two percent this week with a 14 percent jump in the 18-49 demographic. In the key demo, it was male viewership that caused the spike with a 21 percent gain from last week to offset the female audience in the demo dropping by 12 percent. It was NXT’s largest male 18-49 audience since April 25. Conversely, it was the lowest female 18-49 audience since April 4.

Adults 18-34 increased by nine percent this week while 35-49 was up by 18 percent, and the 50+ demo dropped by three percent.

NXT aired against the conference final game between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat (6,561,000 viewers and 2.33 in the demo) on TNT and the Las Vegas Golden Knights vs. Dallas Stars (1,258,000 and 0.39) on ESPN. The NBA competition was not as strong as last week with this week’s game down eight percent in viewers. There was no NHL game last week, but it did air against the NBA draft lottery, which did 3.2 million viewers.

This week’s episode featured the semi-finals of the women’s title tournament with the main event of Tiffany Stratton over Roxanne Perez and the show opening with Lyra Valkyria beating Cora Jade.

Canadian numbers are delayed this week due to the Victoria Day holiday this past Monday, but we should have the figures on Thursday.
