NXT’s Super Tuesday II saw a minor drop in viewership while their key demographics had a larger decline from last Tuesday’s episode.

Their second consecutive Tuesday airing averaged 838,000 viewers that were on par with the previous week’s average of 849,000 viewers. This week’s viewership average would be NXT’s third-highest of 2020 trailing the August 19th show that aired unopposed and last Tuesday’s episode featuring the four-way Ironman Match.

NXT finished #15 for the night on cable with a 0.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic that dropped 15.4 percent from the prior week.

This week’s episode was promoted around the Adam Cole vs. Finn Balor match to determine the new NXT champion and the Steel Cage Match between Rhea Ripley and Mercedes Martinez with the two matches bookending the program.

After four straight episodes with head-to-head competition from AEW, NXT has averaged 841,000 viewers and a 0.24 in the key demo. The prior four episodes going against AEW averaged 673,500 and a 0.18 rating, so running on their own night represents a 25 percent increase in viewers and a 33 percent jump in the demo figure.

Tuesday’s episode of NXT went against the Miami vs. Milwaukee basketball game that did 2,955,000 viewers (1.16 in the 18-49 demo) and the L.A. Lakers vs. Houston game for the final 36 minutes of NXT that did 4,649,000 (2.02).

NXT was hurt by a big loss in females 12-34 that fell from a 0.11 last week to 0.06 while adults 18-34 dropped 36 percent, and females 18-49 fell by 21 percent. Adults over 50 were up 7.5 percent and were the only group to increase this week.

Next week’s edition of NXT returns to its regular Wednesday night and the NBA schedule will determine if AEW runs against NXT.
