Old Network Content

Hi, all.

I’m from the UK. When I got the email that said it was being cancelled on the Network, I cancelled my subscription. I just want to watch the old stuff, from back in the '80s, all the way through to today. Then I probably wouldn’t mind going to Netflix to continue watching, but I’m just one person and they won’t miss the few hundred that they’d be getting out of my bank account over time. They don’t mind missing an expensive meal at a fancy restaurant a couple of times per week - that’s what they’d be missing with the few hundred from my bank account that they won’t be getting now. I’m just one person and not important to them.

Does anyone know if they will be adding the old content onto Netflix, or perhaps somewhere else? I doubt that they ever will. I was in 1985 and was hoping to catch up eventually. I also suspect I am on my own without anyone else not subscribing to Netflix so that WWE is punished for their behaviour in doing this. I wish people would do things that, but they don’t.

Thanks.

Hey man,

I’ve noticed that they’ve added a lot of the old pay-per-view. You can watch summer slam and royal rumble, etc. all the way back to the beginning.

If you’re asking about old WCW content, or old episodes of superstars or something I don’t think that’s ever gonna make it on there. Sadly, I just don’t think it’s worth Netflix time. But you can watch a lot of the old WWE paper view

Thanks for replying.

From experience, I know what capitalism is like. Entertainment? On their terms only, not the customers’ terms. What is money? The opportunity to pay them to dictate to us? I’d might as well be a christian again!

I’d have preferred the histories of the promotions, stories and the wrestlers’ careers, to then continue into more modern content, but I suppose I wouldn’t mind, begrudgingly, settling for the WWF content from WrestleMania 1 and all production from there in order until to day, if Netflix offered that. Having just lost what I was up to is like someone snatching a book off you while your reading it or cancelling a decent TV series unexpectedly.

Oh, well. Thanks.

Hey! So, give it time and we’ll see how this rollout develops. This is a 10-year global deal and Netflix will be the hub for everything WWE, so there is a chance that WWE’s “history” docs and the like will show up eventually as the audience grows. There is a value to adding some historical content beyond old pay-per-views for people to grow their fandom (and keep their Netflix subscriptions). while there might not be a viable business reason in this moment, there are arguments for building the historical archive.

Sadly, we’ll never get the network we once had pre-Peacock. I’m not sure what’s all on Peacock but a VPN set to USA could help fill the gap until we see how the WWE content on Netflix is filled out.

There are also other “nefarious means” and classic’s based sites out there where you can find all the content you are looking for. But the easiest way to satisfy your desires in this moment is a VPN and Peacock.
