Original plans for Brock Lesnar following the Royal Rumble

Brock Lesnar was initially scheduled to return at the Royal Rumble on Saturday night, but plans were altered following Lesnar’s attachment to the lawsuit filed by Janel Grant.

While not named in the lawsuit, Lesnar is referred to as “a world-famous athlete and former UFC Heavyweight Champion with whom WWE was actively trying to sign to a new contract”. Lesnar was later identified by the Wall Street Journal.

In the suit, it is alleged that Vince McMahon used Ms. Grant as a sexual pawn to keep Lesnar under contract with WWE.

Lesnar was removed from the Royal Rumble (although he was never advertised in advance) and replaced by Bron Breakker, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Breakker had four eliminations before being sent out of the ring by Dominik Mysterio.

A source with knowledge of the upcoming creative plans informed POST Wrestling that Lesnar was set to work with Dominik at the Elimination Chamber event on February 24 in Perth, Western Australia. A second source confirmed this plan to us.

Breakker spoke with Cathy Kelley after his appearance in the Royal Rumble and stated, “This is my home now” when referring to the main roster.

It is unknown if Breakker will be assuming the program Lesnar was set to have with Dominik Mysterio.

Knowing what a calm and levelheaded guy Brock is, I’d like to have been a fly on the wall when they told him he was out of the Rumble because of the lawsuit.

Brock is openly all about the money. So if they told him he’s out and not being paid, my guess is he lost his shit. If he was still paid, he probably didnt care lol.
