Pat McAfee spoke about his match against Happy Corbin acknowledging it wasn’t the cleanest match he’s ever had.

McAfee dedicated time on his show Monday to discuss the issues he had during the match including struggles due to the humidity in Nashville.

McAfee stated he trained indoors with air conditioning for this match and didn’t take into account how the humidity would affect him wrestling outdoors in the Nashville heat.

He was critical of certain aspects of his performance including the nearly missed Swanton to the floor where McAfee was struggling to maintain balance on the top turnbuckle. McAfee noted he wasn’t prepared for the post being in the way, but he still landed the move on Corbin.

McAfee added that he was going for a Code Red at the end, and not a Destroyer.

It was McAfee’s fifth match in WWE since August 2020 with previous ones against Adam Cole, a War Games match in NXT, and matches against Theory and Vince McMahon on the second night of WrestleMania this past April.
