Pat McAfee made his return to the commentary desk at the outset of the 2023 Royal Rumble event.

Before the men’s Rumble match got underway, McAfee’s theme played and he made his way to the commentary area, via a detour into the ring to greet the fans.
The return seemed to come as a genuine surprise to Michael Cole, who said he had FaceTimed with McAfee earlier in the day.

McAfee had been working for ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ since September 2022, bringing a hiatus to his WWE duties.
It is not yet known whether his return will extend throughout WrestleMania season.
