Bray Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36, Paul Levesque has announced in a brief message on social media.
Levesque stated on Thursday evening that Mike Rotunda, Windham’s father, had given him the news.
He described Windham Rotunda as a “WWE family member for life” and asked that the Rotunda family’s privacy be respected at this time.
Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda – also known as Bray Wyatt – unexpectedly passed earlier today. Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their…
I think that’s a fair assumption. When he disappeared it was due to medical reasons - which many read as an injury. For all we know it could have been an illness. But anything at this point is complete speculation.
There was something going on health related….I have never heard confirmation if it was a physical health issue or mental health issue. No idea if this passing is connected.
This is a huge gut punch. Bray was an incredible talent and creative soul and while some of his stories didn’t stick for me, it was the fact that many, many fans were glued each week to see what happens next. I don’t know what happens this Friday on SmackDown or RAW next Monday, but the world has lost a talented visionary.
So young. Such a brilliant mind. Very accomplished with so much unrealized potential. His career wasn’t a 1.000 batting average, but no one was quite like him. Tragic.
I heard the Bray Wyatt death online was from COVID causing heart issues.
COVID has been known to cause severe heart inflammation that we call myocarditis. The condition is the similar to what a lot of people are linking with the vaccine but it’s magnitude more common with Covid itself.
When you get inflammation of the heart, it can cause heart damage called cardiomyopathy.
Cardiomyopathy - if it doesn’t recover can cause heart failure and leave you prone to arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death that can eventually result in death.
I was just watching Youtube clips of Bray/Bray reaction and came across this video where Booker T actually found out about the passing while doing a live show. Very sad to watch, but also shows you how Bray was viewed/respected by his coworkers.
