Braun wins and calls out Brock for Summerslam. Good way to setup a match they want anyway, keep Braun in character (he’s not really a “sneaky cash-in” guy), and get rid of the briefcase before it hangs ominously over every title match for the next several months.

I think it makes more sense for a Smackdown guy to win it given the more active WWE Champion, and I’d prefer it be Joe to solidify him in the main event scene. Him with the contract would add that extra layer of menace to his promos. He could be like a horror movie villain lurking around with his briefcase.

My second choice would be Miz, the idea being he would win the title and later defend it against Daniel Bryan on a major show, but I don’t think that match would really need the title.
