John Pollock & Wai Ting review Rocky III (1982) as Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) enlists the help of rival Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) to defeat new nemesis, Clubber Lang (Mr. T).

They discuss Hulk Hogan’s breakout role as “Thunderlips” and how the notoriety he and Mr. T gained from this film would go on to influence WrestleMania I, the popularity of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” theme song, an emotional final performance from Burgess Meredith’s Mickey, as well as the series’ continued autobiographical parallels to Stallone’s Hollywood career.

Plus, a bonus discussion about the Fall 2020 returns of South Park and Saturday Night Live.

Synopsis from Google:

Having become the world heavyweight champion, former working-class boxer Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is rich and famous beyond his wildest dreams, which has made him lazy and overconfident. In a double whammy, he loses his trainer and father figure Mickey (Burgess Meredith) and then has his title stolen by the arrogant, menacing challenger Clubber Lang (Mr. T). Turning to his former adversary, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), for help, Rocky struggles to get his old fire back.
