Finlay said his shoulder has given him some trouble recently and doctors have told him that they don’t know if it’ll ever be fully healed but it’s still attached to his body and that’s what matters to him.

“It’s still attached to me so that’s an improvement but yeah, it gave me a little bit of trouble throughout the tour. It’s not quite a 100 percent. Doctor said it might not ever be a hundred percent but it’s good enough to be back in the ring so, there you have it.”

** Sportskeeda chatted with WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio. Mysterio told the publication that he hopes his son Dominick will be ready to get in the ring in 2020 and when he does, Mysterio would love to share the ring with him.

“I’m hoping that my son can be ready by next year. I hope that we can all get the chance to see him in 2020, and I’m just as excited as the fans to see him step into the ring and have an official match, so let’s hope that it’s next year, by the end of the year 2020. I would definitely love for him to carry on the Mysterio name. It’ll be up to him if he wants to wear the mask or not. I think he’s very well identified right now. I most definitely would love to share the ring properly with him in a tag team match or a three versus three, but I definitely would love to potentially share the ring with him one day. I think, after that happens, I can retire peacefully and say that getting to share the ring with my son was the best feeling in the world.”

** WWE put together a compilation of the n.W.o.’s best moments ahead of their Hall Of Fame induction in 2020.

** Nikki and Brie Bella did an interview with Health.com and Nikki talked about some of the wear and tear she put body through during her time as a wrestler. Nikki Bella shared that her body developed a thick layer of fluid while she was active in the ring to protect her from the mat and when she would step away from wrestling for a period of time, she would shrink in size as that fluid would go away.

“No! During the first few weeks we were learning how to wrestle, Brie and I would get ice packs and put them on our bed and just lie on our backs because we couldn’t move. We went to this chiropractor who told us we were basically putting our bodies through a car accident every night. When you are wrestling, you almost grow this inch-or-two-thick layer of fluid to protect you. It’s crazy—when you take time off wrestling, you shrink because you no longer need that protective shield from being slammed every night.”

** FOX Business has an article posted which features a quote from WWE co-President George Barrios talking about why the sports-entertainment company decided to add a free subscription tier to the WWE Network.

“Yeah, only if Punk is there and I get to hang out and talk with him. If Sasha and I go together and they fly us on a private jet and when we get there they have some fine coffee ready for us, then yes I will hang out with CM Punk and Renee Young and Paige and Booker T.”

Bayley also talked about her and Sasha coming together as heels and thinking that WWE would never let that happen.

** While speaking with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, Cody Rhodes shared that MJF has been taken off AEW’s media list because MJF has upset a few people during interviews:

“Max is really a special talent. He is not the nicest guy. If you’re doing this interview with him, he always has some choice words. He is off our media list. Brandi has taken him off our media list because he has upset a few folks, but he is definitely the future of pro wrestling. Now here is where push comes to shove: Here’s me who doesn’t want to give any inch on the role I’m in right now in this crazy kind of moment I’m having with these fans and supporting me. I wanted to keep that going. There’s him who doesn’t want to give an inch and wants to know everything and how he knows everything and has commitments to MJF. It’s the perfect match for a wrestling match. People will point things about the industry that are artificial so often that they don’t do things that are very real. The best wrestling rivalries come when things are very real. We have gotten under each other’s skin. When you are challenging each other to be better in the ring… this is his time. He does have the platform, but if he doesn’t deliver, he won’t have the platform. At the moment he is continuing to deliver.”

“I think Punk’s been pretty vocal that he’s not interested in an in-ring return right now, but for sure, that would be interesting , and I would love to see AJ Lee back in the women’s division. I think AJ Lee was an incredibly compelling character. Some of our most interesting and intriguing storylines were with AJ, and I think she deserves as much credit as every other woman on our roster. Nobody should be overlooked, and that’s not the goal to overlook anybody’s name. Every single person is a huge reason for why this happened. You know, I’m a big fan of AJ Lee’s, I really am.”

** According to PWInsider, IMPACT Wrestling commentator Josh Matthews signed a new deal with the company.

** Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert conducted an interview with Sammy Guevara at Starrcast IV in Baltimore, Maryland. Guevara talked about having a VLOG that he promotes while The Young Bucks have Being The Elite and said that The Bucks just want everybody to get over and there’s no issue with both parties having YouTube shows.

“Theirs is so much more popular than mine so I think it’d be stupid for them to be mad at me. The thing with The Bucks and all them, they don’t care at all. They want everybody to get over. Whatever they think about me in the ring, kicking their ass, whatever. Outside the ring, I think they’re really good dudes and they want everybody to succeed. Personally, I want to surpass their YouTube channel and continue to kick their ass (in the ring).”

** Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald spoke with Lacey Evans for an exclusive interview and Lacey opened up about her decision to transition from the Marines to WWE:

“I never even honestly considered it. I didn’t really watch WWE growing up. I wasn’t a fan of it and my staff sergeant did indies wrestling in my last year in, and I just thought it was something fun I wanted to go check out and within two weeks I had WWE offering a tryout and because I was still active duty, I had to make a decision. My Master Guns gave me the clearance to go in for the three days in Orlando, Florida and give it all I had. Came in, reported back in, got back to work and got a phone call that they wanted to offer me a contract and at that very moment, I had to make a decision to get out and end my military career in order to transition into WWE as an entertainer. Never dreamed of being famous, never cared about money. I still live in a camper trailer to this day but I knew that my platform and the people that I can impact which has always been a goal of mine would explode, and then I would be able to get opportunities to make a difference on a larger scale than what I was. So it was a no=brainer and I took the contract with WWE in order to make a difference and help people that are going through hell because we are all going through hell but I know first-hand that we can make it out.”

** Kevin Owens joined Booker T and Brad Gilmore on the Hall Of Fame podcast. During their conversation, Owens talked about not using social media and some of the interactions he’s had and/or seen on social media that has driven him away from it:

“One guy that used to get dragged through the mud a lot was Roman, Roman Reigns, by a lot of people, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for Roman. So a lot of times I would see people say really terrible things about him or his family and I feel like I just can’t… and I would look and those people were following me. I’m like, ‘I don’t want these people to have access to me’ and it’s not just Roman, it’s so many people. The Young Bucks are friends of mine and that’s well documented and I remember seeing a fan, and I was tagged in this tweet which is how I saw it. I don’t know why I was tagged in it but this guy was talking about how he hopes The Young Bucks break their neck. Then you’re not a fan. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like them, don’t care for their stuff. To wish that on somebody, I want no part of it and I actually — funny because I met that fan at an airport and I recognized him and he wanted my autograph and I told him, ‘No, we’re good. You wish for my friends to break their necks.’ He was all, ‘Oh, I got hacked.’ I’m like, ‘No you didn’t get hacked’, but you know what I mean? That’s just the kind of stuff that has driven me away from social media. I’ll still use it once in a while. I like posting about my kids, my wife, my family. I like posting about my cats and stuff. It’s weird. I try to keep wrestling out of it because I don’t enjoy that part of it. Everybody’s got an opinion. Everybody thinks their opinion is important and I don’t care for it in that way.”

** Mustafa Ali took to Twitter to reflect on his 2019. Ali specifically wrote about his injury that took him out of the Elimination Chamber match that led to Kofi Kingston going to on WrestleMania 35 to capture the WWE Championship. ** Jimmy Havoc appeared on the most recent edition of WrestlingINC’s WINCLY podcast and shared some insight into the scuffle he had with Excalibur during AEW’s Full Gear weekend. Havoc said that the story was 50 percent true but was still made out as a bigger deal than what it actually was. He said he talked to Tony Khan about it right after it happened and things like that can happen when two friends are drinking and get into a minor argument.

“The report that got put out was totally not what happened at all. I’m not gonna say exactly what happened but the truth is there was one punch thrown, one sleeper hold and it’s not in the order that the press decided to report it happening. That’s all I’ll say on the matter. The dirt sheets started to run with a story that wasn’t true… it was 50 percent true, and it was all sorted out. There’s no animosity. We were all drinking. It f*cking happens. How many times have you been out with your mates and you get in some argument over nothing? So the thing I liked the most about it is the amount of people wanting me to be fired for it. The boss was at the f*cking bar where it happened. So obviously it’s not as bad as everyone is making out.”

“I spoke to Tony straight away about it. No one that knows what happened actually cares. So anyone who wants to make a deal of it… it may have been people who didn’t like me anyway. It’s quite a numerous list of people to be fair. So anytime anything like that happens, people always jump on it and call for my head but, it is what it is. I’m used to dealing with that sort of sh*t now.”

Jimmy Havoc was asked for his thoughts about the state of the independent wrestling scene in the United Kingdom. This year alone, there have been multiple announcements from promotions in the U.K. about closing its doors and Havoc believes it has something to do with the bigger names departing from the scene all at once but overall, he feels like the U.K. scene is fine.

“It’s not as bad as everyone seems to be making it out to be on Twitter. I think the biggest problem I have is that there was like me, Ospreay, Zack Sabre Jr., Marty Scurll, Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate — all sort of left around the same time, and there weren’t really that many younger talent that were up to the level yet. Michael Oku, he’s really great. He’s doing great in RevPro now. There’s quite a few guys in RevPro that are getting to work with New Japan guys which is great. ICW in Scotland is still doing really well. PROGRESS is still doing great. There’s a lot of good shows. There’s quite a few promotions that have closed their doors now, which is a shame, but there’s still shows going on three, four times a week in England so, I can’t see where all this ‘Brit. wrestling is dead’ stuff is coming from.”

** With Kairi Sane suffering her injury at WWE’s TLC pay-per-view, a change was been made to the card for WWE’s return to Madison Square Garden on December 26th. Kairi Sane and Asuka were originally defending their Women’s Tag Titles against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in a Steel Cage match but now, Becky Lynch is defending the RAW Women’s Championship against Asuka and Charlotte inside a Steel Cage.

** POST Wrestling would like to send our congratulations to ROH World Television Champion Dragon Lee who got married over the weekend.

** ROH World Champion PCO joined David LaGreca and Bully Ray on Busted Open Radio. Bully Ray asked PCO about Marty Scurll possibly leaving Ring of Honor and what that could mean for PCO and Villain Enterprises. PCO said Scurll has kept his moves close to the vest and is prepared for Marty to stay or depart.

“That’s a good question because, as crazy as it could sound, for all the rides and all the times we spent together — Marty and Brody and Flip and myself, riding along together and having group text messages and things like that, it’s… I think for you guys because you’re right in the middle of everything. Every company, every gossip that there is in pro wrestling, but honestly, myself, I really don’t know what the situation with Marty . He’s been keeping everything to himself very good. So, if he does stay, it’d be awesome. If he does depart, I believe… let’s say, either way, if he stays, I’m glad he stays with Villain Enterprises. If he leaves, I would like to maybe expand the PCO character even more to make it even more larger than life, and to get Destro involved maybe a little bit more. If I had options… if things happened for different reasons so I really don’t know how it’s gonna turn out so with that situation, I just go on a daily basis and control what I can control and try to do the best. If I do have a show where Destro’s involved, I’m gonna make sure that we give the best show we can with Destro being a part of the show, and if I’m part of Villain Enterprises, I will be more than happy because I’ve got tremendous respect for Brody King who I have known for a while. I got to know Flip a lot and like I said, Marty’s the one who brought me in so I’m going to always respect that. I won’t change anything. That’s going to stay, but for one reason or another, if something happens, I would love to get the chance to elaborate and make the character even bigger than what it is right now.”

PCO said that although he is ROH World Champion, he is not resting on that accomplishment and wants to figure out a way to take his character to the next level.

“In a way, I am but it feels like I’m just halfway there. I want more. My goal was to achieve more than… it was to become world champion but also to become a significant world champion so now, it begins now. Find ways to make it special. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed every second of it. I’m not the type of guy who’s never satisfied with what I got. I really enjoy it but it’s not something where I’m gonna sit on something for a week or two weeks to enjoy it. I totally enjoyed it and now it’s time to just shift into another gear. Now that I got it, I just want to shift to the next gear. That’s my mindset, that’s my focus because I know as a company and I know as a person, I know you can achieve greater and higher things. I think there’s a lot of positive things coming and I just got a super huge, good feeling. Something good is gonna come out of that.”

** Sean “X-Pac” Waltman gave his year-end predictions on his X-Pac 12360 podcast. He feels that the match of the year was WALTER versus Tyler Bate for the WWE United Kingdom Championship at NXT U.K. TakeOver: Cardiff:

“Every match was just excellent on that show. I talk about this all the time whenever we’re discussing TakeOvers, whether it’s on my Twitter or here. They always do an amazing job of either topping or at least following the previous TakeOver. The matches they built, each match was excellent and it just built until the WALTER and Tyler Bate match. I had no problem voting for that match. It was just a classic, it was really innovative stuff. We have all these routines that we do with each other in matches and it’s all the stuff we’ve seen before, and there wasn’t a lot of that in this match, it was really fresh. It just looked like they were killing each other.”

Waltman feels that Xia Li could be a future star in NXT. He pinpointed her mentality and emotion and said she doesn’t appear to be over-choreographed in the ring.

“She has a really good handle on mentally what to do in there. When she’s making a comeback; her fire that she shows, and other people that have been in wrestling for way longer than her, some of y’all need to look at her. When she’s making her comeback, she blows so many of y’all away. It’s not even funny. The way she knocks somebody down, and instead of just standing there waiting for them to come back she’s like, ‘C’mon’ and she’s into it, and it just doesn’t look like choreographed stuff, and her technique is excellent.”

** The WWEPC YouTube channel shared highlights from NXT’s all-women’s live event that took place on December 6th in Jacksonville, Florida:

Lee said he was caught off guard when he found out but soon realized that a big moment was in front of him.

“You want the honest answer? I stopped for a moment, and I looked around like, are they sure that they’re talking to me? And then there was a brief moment of about seven seconds where I didn’t do anything and gradually, randomly, casually say, ‘Oh crap,’ because I have no idea, none. Limited time frame and figuring it all out is a big challenge in its own right.”

Keith Lee and Adam Cole went viral on social media when a clip of Lee pouncing Adam Cole over the guardrail was pushed out by WWE’s digital team. Lee said he was slightly worried because he didn’t mean to shoulder tackle Adam Cole the way he did and stated that it could’ve been bad.

“Yeah, because the first time I saw it, I didn’t even believe it could be real. Like I did not think that I hit him that hard. It was like a movie scene with wire work and they just yanked him out of the screen or something. He left the frame man. When I hit him he almost went over everyone and that could have been really, really bad. Obviously I want to beat up Adam Cole, but I don’t want to just end him.”

** Matt Sydal joined the Keepin’ It Strong Style podcast and talked about what is on the horizon for him in wrestling and in life. Sydal expressed that he is looking to do more camera work in pro wrestling and he’d also like to work with All Elite Wrestling:

“Have money,” Sydal laughed. “I never had anything to prove to start with. I just like wrestling. For me, I’d love to be IWGP Junior Champion. I’d love to do that. I’d love to work with AEW. The things I want to do are sorta behind the scenes. Actions and changes that I wanna make. That’s kind of what I’ve been spending the last year working on and setting up and next year, that might be what I’m doing. I’m kinda trying to figure out how to make it work but yeah, there’s a whole new act. Maybe I’m headed to act three of my three act story. But I’d like to do a lot of stuff behind the camera. Because of my experience in Japan, I love the Japanese camera work. I think it’s superior by leaps and bounds and I think it’s changed… anyway, incredibly detailed theory on why and how to shoot wrestling differently and that’s what I intend to do in the future. So that’s what’s on my bucket list is to make… because I have a simple philosophy. I’m always thrilled and happy that we have fans at the shows, but I always think, ‘These guys go out there and kill themselves and they’re only making $100 bucks. These guys deserve better’ and the promoters are saying, ‘Guys you need to do more to get people here’ and they’re saying, ‘We’re doing what we can.’ So I always think, instead of blaming the guys for the action… when you get the right marketing behind them, then they do come off — example, The Bucks. They wrestled PWG. They’re the stars there. Somebody sees that, uses the right marketing techniques and plus, obviously all their leg work, then you have AEW. You’re able to make something really big, and I just feel like if you let me fiddle with the dials just a little bit, I can bring it home to the viewers the way it feels live, and that’s the thing that I just wanted to deliver to people. The way the wrestling matches feel live is something incredible. You can’t beat it.”

“Right now, the people that are on top are the people that should be on top. But I called this two years ago watching his match when he did the favors for somebody that night, and I said, ‘Man, this Andrade kid is going to be a player one of these days.’ I think he’s proving that. He still has a ways to go, but it’s just tweaking that character. The kid’s a hell of a damn worker.”

** Dragon Gate ‘Fantastic Gate’ Results (12/18/19) Korakuen Hall
