POST Racing - A Discussion Thread on Formula One

Thank you so much! I hope it wasn’t any trouble to give me all that info, I’m thinking I’m going to subscribe….probably tonight lol

Not a problem! I’m just trying to keep things brief. I can write too much. Anyway, if you are going to subscribe, get F1TV Pro so that you don’t experience delays. It’s $80 for the entire season. There is a two-day delay otherwise.

Welcome aboard!

I’m loving how you can watch each racer, as well as pull up stats and the track. It makes for a very enjoyable multi-screen veiwing experience.

Does anyone know if the app broadcasts in 4k? It looks just like 1080 on the TV.

not sure, but the onboards are fantastic fun.

For the new F1 fans: here is one of the greatest Qualifying laps, if not the best qualifying lap, of all time. Entirely from the driver on-board camera. The cars at their lightest, fastest, and entirely on the edge. Quali matters (I say this as I’m preparing to watch quali for the French GP)! Another fun lap to look up from the onboards will be George Russell in the Williams at Spa last year. Breathtaking, perfect lap in changing conditions.

Enjoy the greatest of all time putting in one of the greatest laps of all time:

And here is a view of the lap from the 360 degree camera. The sense of speed you get from this camera… Lewis Hamilton's Pole Lap (Locked 360 Camera) | 2018 Singapore Grand Prix - YouTube

Well as someone who is a big Ferrari so far in my fandom, I don’t like the sounds of that tweet! Lol

Oh boy, summer break hasn’t even started and there’s some drama going on over at Alpine.

Really thought he’d head to Alpine, but now it doesn’t look like it’s happening. McLaren bound?

This is all Fernando Alonso’s fault, and I love it! Lol. Yes, this is the subject of one of my weekly F1 articles. Do we need to think about the season so far and how Netflix will craft the narrative for Alonso’s departure for greener pastures? Absolutely. This will make quite the episode.

Piastri to McLaren has to be all but assured, at this point. Ricciardo paid to leave, returns to Alpine (renault). In reality, Alpine and McLaren should trade drivers like pitchers or right-fielders or something.

This is the second driver contract issue McLaren is currently involved in. Love it.

Cool write up on the season before the break over on the ringer.

Is this why they call it “silly season”?

@RaceyJaycee were you saying you right on F1? If so where can we find your work?!

I write two types of F1 coverage: race-weekend betting-slant articles for a few betting-focused sport sites and sportsbooks, and weekly F1 Coverage for a two small American-based sports websites. Neither had F1 coverage before me. They only covered NASCAR. They hired me to write about Basketball, baseball, NFL, hockey, and MMA/Boxing. The owner approached me about F1 coverage.
The second site I write for was into adding F1 after reading my Austrian GP weekend coverage and an article about ratings growth from NBCSN to ESPN, and then the rise in ratings on ESPN since DTS.

With that being said, I’m not into self-promotion. I had once posted an article on the discord, but I deleted it. I have two articles due tomorrow.

Thank you for your interest, but I’ll leave the F1 content here in the post world to the guys and the great work over at the ringer. I’m happy to help people learn the sport and find their way into cool shit. I take the same approach to musical instruments, tbh. I might like my work, and I’m happy in my niche and that I get to write about the sport, but I’ve never been one for self-promotion, to my own detriment. It is what it is, but that’s good enough for me! But again, I’m small-time. The people you want to read are on F1’s official coverage, The Ringer, The-Race.com (my personal favorite in motorsport, don’t forget the hyphen), or the crew here. They do the best job.

But sincerely, that’s sweet of you to ask about my work. And even though I’m small-time, I couldn’t be happier and truly appreciate being able to write about F1, compared to many jobs I’ve had or would never do.

And the forum is prompting me and telling me that I post too often in this thread. LOL! And now I’ve written too much. See you down the road!

Summer break is already too long, and I miss the races. Here’s some sexy noses for y’all to look at. Whose your favorite? I always thought the Williams looks nice.
