Renee Young will be leaving WWE with several reports confirming her pending departure after alerting the company last week.

Outkick reported the news on Wednesday that Young (real name Renee Good) is leaving on her own accord. It is not known when Young’s last day will be, though it’s reported she will be working through SummerSlam weekend.

Young, 34, previously served as a co-host on Right After Wrestling on The Score in Canada, which was later re-named Aftermath TV. Young worked alongside future WWE colleague Mauro Ranallo and Arda Ocal on the initial iteration of the show, which continues today on Sportsnet 360 (which The Score was re-branded into).

Young joined WWE in the fall of 2012 and worked in many roles including commentator for NXT, backstage interviewer for the main roster, and host for a series of specials including Vintage Collection with Gene Okerlund, Unfiltered with Renee Young, Raw Talk, Talking Smack, and most recently, WWE Backstage on FS 1.

Young married Jonathan Good a.k.a. Jon Moxley in 2017 and the couple was featured on season 6 of Total Divas prior to Moxley’s departure from WWE in 2019.

Good riddance. She was absolutely atrocious on the broadcast team, Addition by subtraction.

She was great when she hosted talking smack with Daniel Bryan. She was also great as a backstage interviewer when she was allowed to actually use her personality.

WWE broadcast teams are atrocious by design, as Vince believes is stupid announcing.

So why does the broadcast team still absolutely suck?

Wrong people, political correctness.

She was bad on commentary even when compared to current standards. She wasn’t good and would just go “wow”, “you gotta be kidding me”, etc. She didn’t add anything.

That said, even though she’s useless as a commentator, she was a very good host and interviewer. They should’ve used her in those role more on TV and I don’t know why they didn’t. It seems as if her poor performance on commentary affected the confidence WWE had in her overall. They put her on WWE Backstage and that was never going to be a success with wrestling fans, it was an overly polished, nothing show.
