AEW’s return to Wednesday nights saw a successful response from its audience.

After a month away from its usual night due to TNT’s coverage of the NBA playoffs, AEW returned on Wednesday nights with an average of 883,000 viewers 452,000 viewers (approximately 0.35) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.

It would represent Dynamite’s highest viewership average since May 12th and their best 18-49 figure since the Blood & Guts edition of the show on May 5th this year.

In a big statement, Thurston reported that the highest quarter was the main event between Sammy Guevara and MJF and the closing video package from 9:45 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET that was watched by an average of 942,000 viewers and 517,000 in the 18-49 demo.

Dynamite also had the disadvantage of going against the L.A. Clippers vs. Phoenix Suns playoff game, which didn’t start until 9 p.m. ET, as well as Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final between Montreal and Tampa Bay.

During the five weeks where Dynamite aired on Fridays and once on Saturday, the shows averaged 541,000 viewers and 0.20 in the 18-49 demo. The previous five episodes on Wednesday nights had averaged 968,000 viewers and 0.34 in the 18-49 demo and included the Blood & Guts episode.

Due to the holiday in Canada, we have not received a viewership figure yet for the show’s performance on TSN 2.
