UFC confirmed the news Tuesday.

It has been three years since CM Punk fought in a sanctioned MMA fight and according to a report from MMA Fighting, Punk is done in the sport. The site noted that Punk is officially retired from MMA. UFC officials confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Tuesday.

Punk made his return to pro wrestling on 8/20 for All Elite Wrestling. He is scheduled to have his first match since 2014 this coming Sunday at AEW’s All Out pay-per-view. He’ll be taking on Darby Allin in his return match.

CM Punk had two MMA fights under the UFC banner. His first bout was against Mickey Gall in 2016 and he lost via submission. In 2018, he lost to Mike Jackson but that decision was overturned due to a positive marijuana test from Jackson on fight day.

He is signed to AEW and President Tony Khan said the deal is not short-term and Punk is not going to be a part-timer.
