A report states that Randy Orton has undergone fusion surgery on his lower back as the performer remains sidelined.

Fightful Select reports that Orton has had lower back fusion surgery, although the exact time of the procedure is not confirmed. One week ago, Orton’s wife Kim posted a photo of Orton at a hospital but it’s unknown when the photo was taken.

Orton last wrestled in May with Riddle and dropped the tag titles to The Usos.

Orton, 42, has been with the company for over two decades since signing a developmental deal with Ohio Valley Wrestling and being called to the main roster in the spring of 2002.

Fightful added that Orton is under contract through 2024 and that there is no timetable for a return to the ring.

Oh wow, so that storyline with Riddle and Orton having a major back injury was 100% legitimate. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery.

Randy Orton is proof positive that as long as you’re taking bumps, it ain’t ballet… he’s probably the “safest” guy I can think of who regularly has good matches, but 20 years in the ring is still 20 years.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Kind of scary if someone with as safe of a style as Orton has this type of enjoy, can’t help but wonder what the bodies of guys like The Bucks are going to be like one day.
