The Young Bucks will not be leaving AEW for the foreseeable future.
According to a report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the popular team has signed contract extensions with AEW.
UPDATED: Later in the day, the site clarified that the two have signed contract extensions rather than new contracts. The original report had stated they had signed through 2026, although it has since been corrected with the Observer site stating the extensions are for two years each. The Young Bucks posted the following in their Twitter bio:
till 2024. Let’s party for 2 more years!
The Bucks were two of the key components when it came to Tony Khan launching the company. The duo signed along with Hangman Page and Cody Rhodes and made the announcement on New Year’s Eve in December 2018. Days later, a press conference was held in Jacksonville, Florida to formally reveal AEW as a new start-up promotion and included the news of Chris Jericho joining the company.
AEW held its first event in May 2019 with Double or Nothing including The Young Bucks taking on Penta El Zero M & Rey Fenix for the AAA tag titles.
The Young Bucks have risen to become one of the dominant tag teams of any era winning championships in AEW, PWG, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and have been voted ‘Tag Team of the Year’ six times in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards since 2014.
