The 2019 Super J-Cup tournament wrapped up Sunday night with the final show taking place from the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California.

Sunday’s card featured the semi-finals and final of the J-Cup, which came down to El Phantasmo defeating Dragon Lee in the final.

El Phantasmo insulted Jushin Thunder Liger during the post-match ceremony and led to a brawl with Phantasmo and Bullet Club teammate Taiji Ishimori against Will Ospreay and Robbie Eagles.

This was the seventh version of the Super J-Cup, beginning in 1994 where the first two versions are among the most popular shows of its time. New Japan has hosted the last three tournaments with Naomichi Marufuji winning in 2009, KUSHIDA in 2016, and El Phantasmo this year.

Earlier in the show, Phantasmo beat Will Ospreay in the semi-finals and should set up a future title match given the result and Phantasmo winning the entire tournament. Dragon Lee defeated Caristico in the other semi-final match.

The show was taped for New Japan World and will be added to the streaming service in September.

New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced a show for San Jose, California on November 9th at the San Jose Civic Auditorium with tickets on sale September 6th.
