Online harassment is an important thing to speak out against but as I mentioned in another thread, this wasn’t a case of online harassment. It was more a case of worshipping celebrities and the affect that can have on extremely insecure, lonely people that end up feeling like they have some sort of a connection to the person they’re obsessed with. They’re more likely to endlessly talk positively about the person they’re obsessed with rather than harass and insult them.

Similar to the Hana Kimura incident, when it was lazy and ignorant to suggest it was trolls when in reality it was social media’s regular angry mob culture, I think it’s lazy and ignorant to suggest it’s online harassment this time round when in reality it was someone’s obsession gone too far.
