Wai said something about WWE not caring about what AEW does but we already know their network partners care particularly about Punk and Bryan joining AEW.

I’ll float this into the ether as it relates to the competition-or-Not-competition:

I’m not rooting for the demise of WWE, I’m rooting for the rise of AEW and part of that is breaking the perception that WWE is Wrestling and that WWE fans and remaining hardcores are, and or have been conditioned to accept sh*t and smile for 20 years without a viable alternative.

My hope isn’t WWE fails or crashes. It’s that they are backed into a corner where the only option is to sell the company and that results in new ownership/leadership restoring its former glory. Look what Disney has done for Star Wars or how mainstream they’ve made Marvel. Disney or another entity could restore WWE, and we know Vince will not.

It would be cruel to root for the demise of a place that employs so many hard working deserving talent and employees. I’ll never root for that. Any anti WWE rhetoric for me is always about the way it is managed and run and squarely on leadership and the ruling family.
I will root for the changing of the company over from a morally and creatively bankrupt leadership team today to something that will benefit all consumers. If that means wanting to see WWE skate on very thin ice or even fall through, before a change in leadership is made so be it.
