No offense taken, but if you read my comments back you will see that what I said is that I don’t personally have an issue with it, but if others do I get it.
As far as Jeff Hardy goes, I admit I have no clue if he’s ok with it or not. If he’s not, that I am firmly against it. If he is totally ok with it (lets even pretend for conversation sake he pitched it, which I admit is very unlikely) then I dont feel that I (not talking about you) have a right to question it. Why would I question something if I dont have a problem with it, and the performer doesn’t?
You reference what Kristen said on the podcast, if she’s not ok with it, I get it. I don’t judge her for that and I completely understand her perspective.
Things like this just don’t bother me. The best example I can give you without going to deep is a few years ago one of my best friends for 25+ years, a person who stood in my wedding committed suicide. When I watch TV shows or anything for that matter that deals with suicide, it doesn’t bother me at all, regardless of how its executed. I am just able to separate what I am watching with my personal experiences. Now I get that not everyone does that and I hold zero judgement towards people that that do not do that. Now I’m sure there could be exceptions to this for me, but generally speaking this is how I feel.
I think you took my “if the performer is okay with it, then who am I to question it?” comment as if I was saying “if the performer is okay with it, then who are you to question it?”
Now if you are asking me if the angle is good, I will flat out say no its garbage. But I think its garbage because its poorly executed/written etc., not because I have a moral issue with it.
Can I ask you, and if you don’t want to dive deeper I completely respect that. If they did this story-line with a performer who didn’t have an issue with alcohol, say Edge, then would you have the same stance? I’m curious if your issue is with the material itself, or if its with the fact that Jeff Hardy is involved.
