John Pollock & Wai Ting reflect on CM Punk’s widely-discussed podcast appearance on The Art of Wrestling with Colt Cabana.

Ep. 226 of the show from November 2014 was Punk’s first public interview since exiting WWE earlier in the year. He goes in-depth about the issues that led to his exit from the company, including creative, business and political disputes with Vince McMahon and Paul Levesque.

Punk also details health concerns he believes WWE medical staff negligently addressed – claims which would eventually lead him and Cabana into a legal battle that would ultimately cost the two their friendship.

Over eight years later, John & Wai isolate key points from the podcast and look back at the conversation through a modern context.

This event was chosen by Espresso Executive Producer, David Porges.

Great episode.

Coincidentally, a new Art of Wrestling episode was released yesterday as well (just Cabana interviewing Mick Foley at WrestleCon last weekend).

Just got around to this one now. John has got to be one of the best in the world for recapping this sort of thing. I’m sure the salaciousness of the material doesn’t hurt either.
