John Pollock and Wai Ting review WWF Capital Carnage 1998, a UK-only PPV from London, England headlined by a Fatal Four-Way match featuring Steve Austin vs. The Undertaker vs. Mankind vs. Kane.

This event is remembered for a rare instance of intentional nudity involving Jacqueline, one of the craziest Mr. McMahon promos recorded on video, The Rock defending his championship against Rewind-A-Wai favourite: X-Pac, and an unfortunate set of circumstances resulting in a very challenging performance for Jim Ross.

Plus, your feedback from the POST Wrestling Forum.

This edition of the Rewind-A-Wai is presented by Espresso Executive Producer, Shaun Pickles.

I seem to recall both this and One Night Only, actually being available on Viewer’s Choice PPV in Canada.

Not sure if the UK only ones after this were - but I definitely have memories of watching this on VHS after a friend taped it after broadcast here.

“Ultimate Farting Championship” is the sort of dry, British wit that I’ve really come to appreciate over the years.

Tuesday I decided to watch we had Goldust and Edge lose but do something to get the fans to cheer because we’re all dumb. I went to a Smackdown house show with the main event Champion Jinder vs Orton in a Tables match. Jinder won but Orton hit an RKO at the end to send us home happy and I thought that was so fucking stupid. That Vince promo my god, Enjoyed the review, I was curious why Hunter Hemsey didn’t wrestle the Rock assuming he had No-Job-itis

What an odd, mostly forgotten event and card. I remember this being easy to find at video rental stores in my area, so I have watched this a few times but I had no desire to go back and watch on the Network. This era of WWF was not my favorite. In my opinion, they went a bit too far in trying to push the envelope around this time. The crowds in this era really only cared about finishers, run-ins, soap opera storylines, and “puppies”. I find the era just before the Attitude Era (Wrestlemania 13 to about Ground Zero IYH) and the latter part of the Attitude Era (Royal Rumble 2000 to Wrestlemania X-7) to be much more enjoyable to revisit.
