Ric Flair spoke with WrestleZone on the decision to have another match with his last match billed for July 31st at Starrcast in Nashville, Tennessee.
Flair told the outlet that he wasn’t happy how his in-ring career ended in 2011 in TNA and was inspired after seeing Steve Austin and Vince McMahon perform at WrestleMania last month. Flair said the match was proposed by his son-in-law Conrad Thompson and he agreed immediately but needed to work out in the ring with Jay Lethal to get over the fear factor – comparing it to getting an airplane for the first time after the 1975 crash where he broke his back.

His concern regarding his pacemaker was alleviated when his doctor told him there is so much scar tissue that he isn’t concerned about any issues wrestling with the pacemaker. Flair is 73-years old but says he has no aches or pains, which he acknowledges is remarkable considering his lengthy career and other problems over the years.
