Rollins wants that spot.
Seth Rollins is in the midst of a reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Since winning the title at Night of Champions, Rollins has gone on to successfully defend the title six times.
At the last two Premium Live Events, Payback and Fastlane, Rollins main evented those shows with Shinsuke Nakamura. Rollins is still aiming to secure a WrestleMania main event and he expressed that while doing a Q&A for Lunch with Larry.
Rollins noted that he knows he cashed-in and won the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 31, but he does not count that as main eventing.
Yes, I’d like to headline WrestleMania. I know I had the cash-in at WrestleMania 31, but that didn’t count as a main event to me. I want to go in as a headliner.
As the Q&A continued, Rollins was asked to name wrestlers on the current WWE roster who he feels are underappreciated. He named Chad Gable, Ivar and NXT Women’s Champion, his wife, Becky Lynch.
On the current roster, shockingly, I think my wife is underappreciated. And then I would go with two guys who I think are really awesome, Chad Gable and Ivar of the Viking Raiders.
On the topic of some of the hardest moves for Rollins to pull off, he brought up the Phoenix Splash. He added that that’s why he does not do it often.
Anything super athletic. For me, the hardest move to do is the Phoenix Splash. That’s why I don’t do it very often.
Out of the 11 WrestleManias that Rollins has been a part of, he thinks SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California might be his favorite venue to host the event thus far. Rollins noted that it felt like a big deal.
Maybe Los Angeles this past year. It felt very big. It felt momentous.
The next title defense on the docket for Rollins is against Drew McIntyre. It is taking place on November 4th at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
