Only half of the 24-person grid in STARDOM’s 2024 Cinderella Tournament remains following events from this past weekend.

The promotion’s busy bracket kicked off this Saturday with a card from Yokohama. Eight wrestlers were sent packing on the first night, as the opening round of the tournament concluded. Hanan, Saya Iida, Ruaka, Miyu Amasaki, Xena, Yuna Mizumori, Sayaka Kurara, and Starlight Kid advanced following wins.

Some of the successful wrestlers on night one appeared a day later for second-round matchups. Tournament bouts from Korakuen Hall in Tokyo included winners of the first round facing wrestlers who received a bye into the second round.

Starlight Kid punched her ticket into the quarter-finals, going 12 minutes against Suzu Suzuki for a win. Another first-round wrestler advanced before her, as Hanan went 10 minutes against MIRAI for a victory. Ami Sourei and Mei Seira — who both had byes from the first round — beat their respective opponents, Yuna Mizumori and Saya Iida, to advance into the quarter-finals.

The final eight for this year’s Cinderella Tournament will be set on Saturday when STARDOM heads to Hyogo. Making her first appearance in the tournament, Waka Tsukiyama will face Xena. Ruaka will try to get past Hazuki, who has made it to the semi-finals of a Cinderella Tournament twice in the past.

Rookie Sayaka Kurara, who just debuted three months ago, will face a big challenge when she faces two-time High-Speed Champion AZM. Miyu Amasaki will also try for her second win of the tournament when she faces Mai Sakurai.

Even though there are many matches to go, the Cinderella Tournament is just over a week from wrapping up. The tournament will conclude on March 20 with a show from the Nagoya International Conference Hall.
