Just wanted to point out that Owens lost to Goldberg in ~21 seconds.

Great point and he was able to come back from that just fine. In the grand scheme of things, moments like these are easily forgotten as time goes on. I do agree with John that I would have preferred that Owens wasn’t in this role as he’s so good but hopefully he’ll get something more in the future.

Wai’s ice-cream analogy had me on the floor.

I have been thinking about why SummerSlam resonated so much with me. To me it’s as good a show as WWE can give me.

One of the reasons is every guy on the card felt like they had a purpose and place.

  • Rollins as the white hot IC title holder
  • Miz and Bryan as a serious upper mid card grudge feud
  • Joe and AJ as the serious wrestling for one championship
  • Two women’s matches that finished on major moments
  • Brock and Roman as the entertainment aspect part of the championship equation. There’s room for everything.
(Even the lower mid card match with Balor featured a genuine surprise)

As for the ending, was the swerve on the crowd any less infuriating to the audience then Austin turning heel? It’s just how you have to work the audience in this era of wrestling.
