The taped episode of NXT 2.0 posted a modest increase in the key demo and led to the show ranking among the top ten cable programs.
The September 20th episode, which was taped last week in Orlando, averaged 688,000 viewers and approximately 196,000 (0.15) in the 18-49 demographic with data from Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.
The show dropped 5.5% in overall viewers while up by 2% in the key 18-49 demographic leading to the show ranking seventh for the night among originals, which was led by Fox News programming. ABC’s The Bachelorette and NBC’s The Voice were the most-watched programs on television.
It didn’t appear there was any additional curiosity for the show after last week’s program ended with the reveal of a new black & gold logo. The show included a #1 contenders match between JD McDonagh and Tyler Bate with the arrival of Ilja Dragunov at the end of the show.
In the 18-49 demo, female viewership was up by 64% from last week but that’s more a result of last week’s demo figure seeing a big drop but it’s a demo that sees a large fluctuation. Male viewership in the demo dropped 17% from last week.
Among adults 18-34, NXT fell 18% to its lowest average since August 9th. Adults 35-49 had an 11% increase while 50+ declined by 5%.
The last taped episodes from NXT 2.0 were on June 14th and June 21st this year. The first week averaged 612,000 and 0.12 in the 18-49 demo and the following week’s numbers were 637,000 and 0.18 in 18-49.
In Canada, NXT averaged 59,000 viewers and 23,000 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360. Last week, the show averaged 56,000 and 33,000 respectively.
Next week’s episode is another taped edition of NXT 2.0 and will include a Pub Brawl between Josh Briggs & Brooks Jansen and Gallus, and Cameron Grimes vs. Joe Gacy among the matches advertised.
