NEWS

  • With his most recent reign capping off at 611 days, Nikita Koloff has spent a total of 1441 days as NWA/WCW World Champion across his 6 reigns. It’s hard to imagine anyone besting either his single reign or cumulative total as champion records (although Ric Flair has just pulled ahead on total reigns with 7)
  • It’s rumoured that Chris Benoit will finish up his current run with WCW shortly and then head off to Japan. Shane Douglas is also rumoured to be jumping to Eastern Championship Wrestling who have big plans for him. It’s a shame as his tag team with Ricky Steamboat is catching on
  • There were some federal rumblings around steroids but face of the WWF Magnum T.A. was the ultimate company man. Vince rewarded this loyalty by putting the belt on Crush, who doesn’t exactly scream natural gains
  • Damien Demento and Yokozuna have received a mega push with Demento being the babyface in their series of matches. It will be interesting how things hold up post-Summerslam but it’s certainly raising both wrestlers’ profile
  • Typhoon has left the WWF for WCW in what is said to be a big shock internally

Definitely interested in the reign of Crush. I hope his run lasts a while and we eventually get a Crush vs Adam Bomb feud.

He’s being booked like Rey Mysterio, losing non-title matches all over the place.

SUMMERSLAM FALLOUT

  • The biggest news is that Magnum T.A. is headed back to WCW as he’s just finished up a very successful run with the WWF but Vince is clearly going for a more character based climate and Magnum still comes up a bit too Southern for those in Stamford, Connecticut
  • Big Boss Man has left the WWF
  • Hercules Hernandez has retired. His United States Championship run the clearl highlight of a largely underwhelming career
  • The Rock & Roll Express are on a small interpromotional run in the WWF, feuding with the Heavenly Bodies

This is perhaps the most unrealistic thing this alternate timeline has produced so far. Just wondering how you came up with this? Does WWE 2k22 give match ratings? Did you watch the simulation or play it and it was a killer match? It just boggles the mind how an Ultimate Warrior match in 1993 would be any good in any universe.

It was a false-finish fest - WWE 2k22 does give star ratings.

I don’t play any matches.

I’m sensing a big Crush vs Smash title for title match at Wrestlemania 10

And Nikita Koloff is just tearing it up in this timeline. I love it.

I dont like Yokozuna losing to Damien Demento though.

Me either. Demoliton are definitely a beta test for The Shield though. All 3 are currently holding the gold.

Really? That’s surprising. I haven’t played a WWE2K game since maybe 2K14 and I think I remember that for Universe mode it would give star ratings. And the older Raw vs SD games would definitely give match ratings.

Since you’ve obviously spent some time playing WWE2k22 for this simulator I thought I would ask what you think of it? I haven’t seen much discussion of the game on this forum. I’ve tried playing some of the 2K games since 2K14 and didn’t like them. But I’ve heard 2k22 re-did the engine to make the matches more fun to play again.

From a gameplay perspective it’s a step in the right direction but your last port of call is a long way away. It handles quickly for me on the PS5 and the Rey Mysterio showcase is a lot of fun.

For me though, the game lives and dies with Universe Mode and that peaked at WWE '12 or WWE '13 and then they went far too formal and formulaic with WWE 2k14 and they still haven’t swapped that up. Universe mode also crashes like a MFer when you try and change things. It’s not unplayable; it’s just a nuisance that I hope they patch out soon.

Just an update. Patch 1.09 pretty much crippled anyone running a custom wrestler/PPV Universe. So I’m waiting on Patch 1.11 to hopefully fix the issues they’ve created.

And now the update. It’s finally patched and we continue on.
