WWF SURVIVOR SERIES RESULTS - NOVEMBER 23, 1994

  • Shawn Michaels def. Nailz (with Chuck Norris as special ring enforcer) to retain the WWF World Heavyweight Championship
  • The Tornadoes def. The Power Supply (Lex Luger is sole survivor)
  • The Hart Foundation def. The Million Dollar Corporation (Bret is only member of his team to be eliminated. Owen eliminated 3 wrestlers)
  • The Painmakers def. Team Madness (Barbarian & Backlund survive)
  • The Bad Guys def. The Hot Guys (Razor & Brawler survive)
  • The Music Men def. The Clowns (Jarrett, Kwang & Pierre survive)

NOTES

  • Owen’s post-match interview with Todd Pettingill seemed to be disrespectful towards Bret. Bret & Owen’s tag reign sits at 305 days
  • There are rumours that after his elimination, Savage got his stuff and was right into the rental car and gone without showering
  • It was a big night for Jeff Jarrett, Yokozuna, and Lex Luger with Yoko specifically challenging Kerry Von Erich for his IC title after his match (Yoko eliminated KVE from the Survivor Series match)
  • It is said that Vince is hiring some old faces to beef up a slightly depleted roster with several WCW poachings. Sato & Ronnie Garvin are said to be set to return in lower midcard roles shortly.

SMOKING NO MORE?

  • Honky Tonk Man’s WWF comeback has hit a roadblock as he has been ruled out for 5 months with a triceps injury
  • The Smoking Gunns have jumped to WCW declaring that they weren’t used in the manner they were expecting. Officials in WWF don’t seem too fussed about it either. There’s some word that individuals were high on Billy but they’ve even those who were supporters of them didn’t really have much currency to argue with from recent attempts.

WRESTLEMANIA XI TAKING SHAPE

  • It’s clear we’re getting The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels vs Yokozuna and the WWF wasted no time in turning Michaels babyface on the first Raw after the Rumble. Michaels announced that he hasn’t always done things in a way that his parents would be proud of but he can promise that at WrestleMania XI, he’s going to make the whole country proud by defending America’s honour against Yokozuna
  • The WWF is said to be of two mindsets for opponents for The Undertaker (who they’re still determined can be ‘a thing’). We’re hearing both Davey Boy Smith and Jeff Jarrett as possible options for The Deadman
  • Bundy vs DiBiase is as good as signed on after Bundy eliminated his Corporation employer from the Rumble event itself
  • In WCW news, Magnum T.A. and Ricky Steamboat have declared a mutual desire to tag together. The tag division in WCW is the strongest of any company in a long time.

A COUPLE OF COMEBACKS AND A DEPARTURE

  • Everything old is new again as both WWF & WCW are welcoming back a familiar face. For WCW it’s more noteworthy as 7 time world champion Nikita Koloff returns to the ring at age 35 while for the WWF it’s former IC Champ, The Genius. Koloff is expected to be a full-time return while for The Genius it’s rumoured to be a final run of about a year or so.
  • Terry Funk has moved on out of WCW and is rumoured to be headed to Japan while also spending time in the recently rechristened “Extreme Championship Wrestling” over in Philadelphia
  • With Funk’s leaving, the feeling is that the Stud Stable, despite their tag team win, never really got over and with Arn Anderson wanting a shot at the Main Event and Dick Slater bailing on the group for a wrestling odd-fellow partnership with Mr. T, calling it quits seems the most logical perspective
  • There’s also rumblings that Blacktop Bully’s title reign is surely a transitional win for a more bankable star (Hogan, Warrior, Savage, Koloff) to take it off of and get it out of the Flair boomerang of late. Only time will tell.

UNDERTAKER HOLDS OUT

  • The Undertaker, Mark Calloway, is said to be holding out on account of his spot and money relative to his notoreity. It’s said that Vince McMahon is looking to make an example out of Calloway, who didn’t have a positive run in WCW earlier in his career. The holdout is set to be a long one.
