The Great Simulation Do-over (Updated through WWF Survivor Series Preview: November 19, 2000)

THE NWO IS ALL OVER NITRO

  • This week’s Monday Night Nitro saw all sort of nWo interference as they’ve begun a conscious effort to reduce the legitimacy of the company’s main 3 championship belts
  • The threesome interfered in #1 contenders matches across the board and a non-title match between Ricky Steamboat and Sting that is resulting in a re-match for the title at Clash of the Champions
  • Psicosis will challenge 2 Cold Scorpio for the U.S. belt and The Public Enemy will challenge The Faces of Fear
  • The big question is Sting’s involvement though as the nWo treated him as more of an ally than the other matches where Hogan, Hall, and Nash were clearly just disruptors.

You’d think so. I just simulate though - I don’t book. Blame Bischoff.

AUSTIN 3:16?

  • After beating Jake Roberts at Summerslam, Steve Austin was interviewed on the ramp by Dok Hendrix.where Austin continued the assault, albeit verbally on Jake Roberts: * You sit there and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn’t get you anywhere! Talk about your Psalms, talk about John 3:16… Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!*

IT’S A TIME OF FLUX

  • Wrestlers are jumping back and forth between WWF & WCW and the world is transfixed by the New World Order and WCW as a whole
  • Vince McMahon is said to be committed to Yokozuna and his reign as champion and isn’t that concerned by the effect Scott Hall and Kevin Nash are having. In fact, Jim Ross said he’s bringing Diesel and Razor Ramon back to the WWF. Our sources indicate some confusion in WCW as they definitely have signed multi-year deals with Ted Turner’s company
  • Ted DiBiase has jumped to WCW where he was revealed to be the benefactor of the nWo
  • The 1-2-3 Kid has also debuted with WCW and is part of the nWo, as is The Giant

WHOSE SIDE IS STING ON?

  • In the build-up to Fall Brawl, the nWo have been stating that Sting is the newest recruit to the New World Order - a claim that the Icon has been denying to his teammates
  • Flair and Steamboat seem dubious as the nWo have been broadcasting some video evidence of someone that looks a lot like Sting if it’s not the Stinger.

FLAIR OUT FOR A YEAR. STING ALSO GONE

  • At the conclusion of Fall Brawl, Sting walked away from his celebrating teammates and that was enough for the nWo to pounce. They put a beatdown on Flair to the degree that he had to be stretchered out. We’re hearing it will be a calendar year until we see the Nature Boy again
  • The following night on Nitro, Sting said he walked away from Ricky and Ric because they lost faith in the Stinger and they were wrong. But tonight he’s walking away from Nitro because he’s losing a little faith in the Stinger as well - and this time, the doubters are right. He’ll still be watching though.

WHY NOT HOGAN?

  • Hollywood Hogan was pencilled in for the Main Event of Halloween Havoc for several months now but there’s some concern that he’s not being booed in the manner they would like. This resulted in the loss at War Games to Ric Flair but also the consequent beatdown as Flair needed to leave for some medical work. However, now that means Hogan has been weakened and no-one has benefitted.
  • Owen and Davey Boy are each now 4 time tag team champions with Owen having 2 reigns with Davey Boy as well as Yokozuna and his brother Bret. Davey on the other hand has his 2 reigns with Owen, a reign with Lex (as the Allied Powers), and a reign as part of the British Bulldogs

WCW would be winning the war for me for sure right now. That Havoc show looks great.

Yup. I’m about to start altering the weightings coming out of Halloween Havoc for gaining ‘overness’ points. WWF needs to start the decline.

Not to mention their tag division is in tatters. Like it’s seriously woeful.
