The simulation is certainly being inspired by real life and all the crazy title changes in both WWF and WCW in 1999.

WWF:
Champions in 99 IRL: Rock, Mankind, Austin, Undertaker, Triple H, Vince, Big Show (and vacant)
Champions in the Sim: Animal, Mankind, Austin, Undertaker, Vader, Shamrock (and vacant)

WCW:
Champions in 99 IRL: Bret Hart, Hogan, Flair, DDP, Sting, Randy Savage, Kevin Nash
Champions in the Sim: Bret Hart, Hogan, Barbarian, Brian Adams, Piper, Meng (and vacant)

Is this the year with the most championship changes in the Simulation so far?

Yeah. We’re at 13 for the year already and the next closest was 1998 with 10.

WWF SEEMINGLY PUNISHING ACOLYTES

  • The WWF seem to be publicly punishing Faarooq & Bradshaw for their participation in the now infamous ‘Acolyte Test’ by placing the Acolytes in a heterosexual cheating type storyline where Faarooq has dumped Bradshaw as his partner for someone a little more fun. Bradshaw has joined Grandmaster Sexay in a combination of the jilted former partners.
  • The former Acolytes have been in a plethora of comedy type vignettes as they try to adapt to their respective new partners.

Producer’s Note: I didn’t do this. The sim did. I’ve just added the creative to it. The timing couldn’t be better.

  • The Godfather def. The Rock (c) to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship
  • The Legion of Doom def. The Unholy Alliance (c) to win the WWF World Tag Team Titles
  • Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart squashed Test who is now being accompanied to the ring by Stephanie McMahon

  • Team Canada (The Lionharts and Edge & Christian) def. Bradshaw, Grandmaster Sexay, and The Hardy Boyz in a clean sweep
  • Kurt Angle def. Stevie Richards in Angle’s WWF debut

NOTES

  • Undertaker has been announcing something about a Higher Power in recent weeks and said post-match he will need to see the will of the higher power regarding his future as a tag wrestler with Big Show. Show didn’t seem to have a clue what he was on about
  • The finish to the main event has gained a lot of praise as 2 Cold Scorpio went for a 450 degree splash but crashed and burned when Shamrock moved. The WWF Champion then applied the ankle lock and it was all said and done
  • Match of the night was Angle vs. Stevie Richards which is remarkable for 2 talents making their WWF PPV debuts…
  • Crash Holly has said that he has some big plans for the WWF Hardcore Championship
  • Mick Foley was doing a backstage interview late in the night when The Rock walked by and Foley ran after him saying he had an idea he wanted to run by The Great One. Rock didn’t seem too impressed. Foley did tell Michael Cole that he hopes he has a nice day before running after The Brahma Bull
  • Steve Austin grabbed the microphone after his loss in the Survivor Series match and said his number one mission moving forward is to find out who ran him down and he doesn’t trust anyone. If you wanna see Stone Cold search for clues and drink some brews, give him a hell yeah? (Hell yeah!)

BULLDOG BACK ON THE LEASH

  • Davey Boy Smith has picked up a back injury at the worst possible time. He might have been on the run of his career and there were those within Titan Tower that were pushing for him to go 1 on 1 with The Godfather at Armageddon but a new challenger will have to be found.

THE HIGHER POWER REVEALED

Vince Mc Mahon Its Me Austin GIF - Vince Mc Mahon Its Me Austin It Was Me All Along - Discover & Share GIFs

  • Undertaker informed Big Show that the higher power revealed that they should remain a tag team for the time being.
  • Big Show wanted to know who the higher power is
  • Taker said he would reveal himself tonight
  • It was me Austin. It was me all along. Vince McMahon revealed himself to be the head of the Corporate Ministry
  • Austin came down to the ring but with Taker, Big Show, Mideon, Viscera, Shane, Boss Man, Faarooq and Scotty 2 Hotty (who just looks like an emo Youth Pastor and is oddly out of place), Vince was able to get away to safety. McMahon says he needed Stone Cold distracted for just a moment and he could ensure Stone Cold was out of sight and out of mind from the WWF. He did, however, tell Austin (from an increasingly great distance that he doesn’t even know who was driving the car that night
  • They replayed Austin rescuing Stephanie that night back in late April when Austin put Stephanie back in the car. Vince is clearly in the car still and drives off long before he’s hit by the second vehicle with McMahon clearly pushing by Test and Mankind to get out of the limo and check on Austin
  • Vince says that the truth is, he doesn’t know who ran down Stone Cold Steve Austin but he sure wish he would
  • Austin stands in the ring looking at the grainy footage on the Titantron what he’s set upon by Vader (where did he come from?, JR ponders)
  • Backstage Foley tells Austin that he was in the car that night and can vouch that Vince couldn’t have driven the car but he’s got a few ideas. He wants to ask some questions though.
  • Austin tells Foley he can do whatever he wants but right now he’s going to worry about kicking Vader’s sorry ass at Armageddon and then he’ll kick all the ass he needs to until he finds out who ran him down with a car.
  • Another backstage segment with Undertaker telling Vince that now this is all in the clear he wants something and that’s to take out those Canadian pissant dissenters, Edge and Christian at Armageddon. Vince agrees. As Taker is leaving, Stephanie and Test barge into Vince McMahon office. It’s clear that they weren’t in on the ruse. Stephanie says that from this point forward, she has no father. Vince seems legitimately distraught and tells Patterson/Briscoe that his ego might have run away with him on this one

NOTES

  • The Turner Executive came to Nitro and challenged Ric Flair about his ability to be objective after scheduling David Flair vs. Chavo Guerrero for the Hardcore Title at Starrcade
  • Flair said he can be objective but the Turner executive said that he couldn’t help notice that The Executive weren’t defending their titles at Starrcade
  • After a prompt from Roddy Piper, Flair challenged that the card was full. The Turner executive said that this is what he was talking about… so he’s been authorised by Billionaire Ted to make a match under his jurisdiction
  • Flair quickly said ‘no Hogan’ and Piper chipped in ‘or Meng’ - The executive said that wouldn’t be an issue. Flair argued that these belts have a legacy and that legacy necessitates a proper tag team challenging, not some frankenstein’s monster thrown together team. He said he doesn’t see anyone inside WCW that are at the level required
  • The Turner exec said that he agreed with Flair’s assertions but this tag team aren’t from inside WCW. In fact, I think history shows that they’re very much from not from the inside at all but that’s because they’re Outsiders
  • The Outsiders music plays and they walk on out to the ring, flanked by Eric Bischoff
  • The fans cheer as Flair went “he’s retired. He’s retired!” in reference to Kevin Nash’s loss to Hogan a few months back
  • The exec simply says ‘he was retired, now he’s re-hired’ before telling Flair that his presidency is back on the line as a retirement match between Flair and Hogan was simply a stupid thing to do when they’re 2 of your most valuable assets
