The conclusion of last week’s NJPW Strong saw Tom Lawlor defeat Brody King to become the first NJPW Strong Openweight Champion. Lawlor went through The DKC, Ren Narita, Hikuleo and then Brody King to win the 2021 New Japan Cup USA tournament and to become champion.

This is a really great idea for a reset after that tournament. It’s been fun seeing the progression of Ren Narita and Clark Connors recently. Along with Fredericks and Hikuleo, they’re going to be a good shot in the arm for New Japan’s divisions when travel becomes easier.
